I’ve heard reports that juries in trials are often surprised that there is no deluge of scientific evidence a la CSI et al. They almost seem to expect it and are disappointed when it’s not given. If it’s like that on TV it must be like that in life.
On those shows they find a suspect and prove him innocent, then move to another. They go through several before getting the one they can not find innocent, thus proving his guilt. In real life they find a suspect and nail him. The real trial comes in the penalty phase where they test political correctness and public feedback on the internet.
