Ron Moody was being considered for the 3rd Dr. Who but was also up for Fagin. I think he chose wisely. Some articles said he regretted not playing the Doctor, but others cite his delight in playing Fagin.
Celecca: Ron Moody played Fagin in the original London produciton of OLIVER! as well as the 1968 movie. He originated the role in the musical, as the West End production preceded the Broadway produciton.
The Old Wolf: Moody only played Fagin in London. He didn’t play the part on Broadway in New York, that was Clive Revill.

Ron Moody played Fagin in the 1969 movie Oliver!, nominated for an Oscar for it. I think he also played the same role on stage. He died on Thursday.

I saw Ron Moody’s Fagin in New York in 1963. He was a joy to watch. This is a delightful tribute.

I’m probably late for the party with this, but Pab is spoofing the “Kony 2012” campaign. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kony_2012
