Bob, you are so smart. My husband and I took the âBelt Wayâ to avoid the traffic to the Capitol on the way to and from Virginia. It was so backed up because of âall the other people avoiding the Capitol area. Makes you wonder why the people working in the Capitol arenât required to live in Washington during the week and go home on the weekends.
Hey! Our traffic is light and easy, except when the tourists show up. And when you get on an escalator (if you can find a working one in the Metro system) stand on the right and walk on the left, dammit!
The only way to do DC is to get a hotel near a Metro station and take that the whole time. If you arenât sitting in traffic, itâs a one way street, but not in the direction you need to go.
You would think politicians would be smart enough to disperse the bureaucracy, to âshare the wealthâ around the country. I will vote for the first guy who promises to move all executive departments to Minot, ND.

I used to live in the DC area, but I made certain to live close to my job. My commute was all of 1.3 miles. It took me 3 minutes.

Ah yes, the Belt Way. You could read War and Peace on a Monday morning on the way in!
