De-regulation, eliminating inspectors, and putting political appointees in charge WAS from Reagan/41 and 43. The problem goes back to the Watt years, and they MAY be able to sweep the culls out, but it will be tough. Republicans will go nuts over any substantive change, as will a few Dems as well.
Human- just google “oil eating bacteria” and there are numerous sites. I’ve worked with some of the folks working on these little “critters” and they’re only effective in certain situations. Some sites are “bacteria” other sites are “organisms”-

The MMS definitely was during the Bush administration. Remember they were the ones who snorted coke, slept with and did whatever the companies wanted.
