On hot days when my buddy goes with me, I leave the house with 2 sets of car keys. I leave the car running with the AC on for him and lock the door while I run and do what I have to do and he sleeps on the front seat (all 95lbs) discouraging thieves and soaking up the AC.
Remote start is our answer. Our mini dashound goes every where with us and we can remote start heat and air she is 13 and that has always worked for us. Of course we never would leave too long or out of sight of car.
During the period of the Roman empire’s slid into chaos, one emperor killed an offending spouse by confining her in an “overheated bath”. So it’s not a recent discovery that confining a living creature in a space which is or will become overheated is a death sentence. So why is it that every summer children and animals die because the adults are so self-centered that they don’t know and don’t care?
Swallow your anger/pride/whatever and speak to these people politely. Something may rub off onto them if you explain the danger, whereas arguing with them won’t make any difference. They’ll possibly take it out on the dog

The only thing that start to have an impact on stupid people is a 10 lb sledge hammer – (repeat as needed!)

Good poster. Copy and pin up in public areas to remind people what not to do.

I still hear reports almost every day of stupid people who leave their children in their car. You think they care about their dog?

I just saw an article that someone offered adults $100 if they could stay in a hot car for 10 minutes. Nobody was able to do it.
