As I’ve always said, don’t tell me to “just be myself” and then get all bent out of shape when you find out that this is who I really am!

Stay that way and get elected president.

Reminds me of a line from “Bill Cosby: Himself” I said to a guy, “Tell me, what is it about cocaine that makes it so wonderful,” and he said, “Because it intensifies your personality.” I said, “Yes, but what if you’re an #%%hole?”

To thine own self be true. At least Rat has some self-awareness unlike, say, Bucky Katt from Get Fuzzy.

And Rat just wants to say Thank you for letting me be mice elf, again.

That’s bad advice Goat is handing out. He should have said “Live by the Golden Rule; Treat others as you would want them to treat you.”

Take the baseball bat, Goat, and beat Rat with it until it breaks.

At least Rat recognizes who he is! That’s more than can be said for a lot of other people….

Goat had to see his mistake as soon as he realized it was Rat that he’s talking to.

As a graduate of VMI, the rat character in today’s strip strikes pretty close to home. Freshmen at VMI are known as “rats,” and I knew some who exhibited the same warped sensibilities as your character.

I had a boss like that, but narcissistic and a psychopath. Psychos know how to make people like them, sociopaths don’t. Either way, it can get you killed.
