ANY comparison to Cul de Sac is … beyond “a compliment”. There are hordes of cartoonists who would sacrifice their drawing hand to be compared to the cartooning genius that is Richard Thompson.

When my son was in fifth grade, the teacher put a twinkie (in its plastic wrapper) on the shelf at the start of the year. Eight months later, he showed the class how it was still nice and soft and “still good” with no mold or anything. And yet nobody in the class wanted to eat it. (I think they learned something.)
