Unfortunately, there’s still no animated .gif on http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy&uc_full_date=20200604 – not even on the link I usually try…
Let’s just hope that there’s everything OK with StelBel and Nighthawks. The latter commented just 6 hours ago, I suspect their animated gif(t) to us is too large for GoComics again and needs some last-minute editing.
GOOD MORNING BALLARDEERS! 84323612 Days of FUN – FUN – FUN!
Close to 90 again today. Which kinda makes me feel like it. Unlike most of my family I’m not a fan of summer. Thank goodness my son is not afraid to run the AC.
Middle child, Sally’s hair started falling out from her chemo. She shaved it. Looks like me now. -ish
Y’all take care of each other. My plate’s full. (((((HUGS)))))
I need to pass along my apologies to the early commenters who found no C&C posted when it should have been. With everything all set to post, at the last minute, I cut my thumb on a recyclable that I was putting out for curbside pick-up. It actually wasn’t as serious as itinitially looked and felt, but, not knowing that, I started dreading a possible all-night wait in the Emergency Room not to mention possible exposure to Covid-19. I managed to bandage it up so that it was now 4 times my normal thumb size. Then, I fixed my little guy, Max, his supper and prepared his insulin shot. After 2 failed tries because of his squirming and my now-humongous thumb not being able to push down the syringe plunger at the right time, finally: success! Then, he refused to eat, and I’m all sorts of levels of upsetedness.
Long, yet not really interesting, story short: by the time we all calmed down here, posting the animation had gone right out of my head. 1 a.m. here is the time the comics change. At 4:30 a.m., I woke up out of a deep sleep, flew out of bed, and raced to post today’s animation.
I am so sorry for being late and also, so sorry for making you read a long, boring story about why I was so late. I actually should have sent this to Susan so that she could have injected it with more humor and interesting word play. Susan……..help?

At least he keeps his mess contained.
Morning, Marg!

Um…. welcome… uh… everybody?
Yoo hooo….
Allee allee IN free!
OK, has anybody seen … um…. Nighthawks, maybe?
I came here to comment with everybody on
the June 5th 2020 “CLEO and COMPANY”
Which is usually on Sherpa
http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy
But it’s not there yet….
and neither are my Cleo pals!
NIGHTHAWKS!!!
That’s not gonna wake him up, is it?
The problem is they took away most of our formatting options 3 years ago.
We used to be able to type a HUGE font that was muuch better and rousing people.
Oh well… I’m sure he and Cleo will be along….
I’m leaving the link cos it’ll work eventually…. but probably not before I go to bed.
I’ll check back anyway, though…
Go ahead and start the covfefe….
See ya in a bit.

OH!
Hi Dennis and Tigressy… you both showed up while I was typing.
Phew.
I guess I’ve NOT actually gone back to that other planet where I was the other day…
or stepped into the Bermuda Triangle.
I was wondering… especially after ejcapulet said hi to Marg, and she didn’t answer either.

Okay!
In the weeeee hours of the morning…. Cleo has arrived!
And it’s a brand new animation!
And no, there was nothing last-minute about the strip; it’s been ready to go.
StelBel was actually the one who meant to post it…. but complications ensued, and she simply didn’t do it on time.
She just called me, while I was …um… resting my eyes….
knowing that I’d not have officially gone to bed… to tell me that it was up now… in the East Coast early morning.
Yay!
Wow..
Good thing Cleo makes a good living from her movies… otherwise, she’d have the Cliffords in the (figurative) poorhouse with her extravagances..
I must say, though…. even if I think I know why the cost isn’t a worry…
Clara and Claude are still the most inexplicably nonchalant pet owners I’ve ever seen.
I suppose if your dog driving a tank doesn’t make you lose your cool, you’ll be totally unperturbed by a bowling alley in your living room.
And after all… who needs a silly old fireplace, anyway?
Good job, Nighthawks and Stel!

I thought a lot about what the right sound for a bowling strike was…..the internet offered no help; all I found was ’BOOM!".
That didn’t seem right so, in a ground-breaking moment,Cleo and Company has now set the standard for the onomatopoeia
of that meeting of bowling ball and pins.
and as the old scalawag pointed out , that written sound now and forever to be used by cartoonists everywhere is :

Cleo is a southpaw! I feel like I should have known that already. I bet her hero is Earl Anthony (RIP).

Good morning Balladeers, (((((Plods)))))) and Miss Susan.

And what do you think you’re doing Miss Cleo? Going bare paw in a bowling alley? Your nails alone will scratch the finely polished floor.
Good sound effects, NH. (felt like an earthquake to me!)

Definitely worth the wait! – It takes time to build a decent bowling alley.

Nice to see Cleo on a roll (or possibly a hot dog bun…)

Thanks for the new animation, Nighthawks and StelBel. I loved the slo-mo detail of the ball.

Just wait till Claude checks his credit cards and sees how overdrawn they have become.
