Is Adam setting things up for Clayton to look down his nose at him? I know nothing about Adam’s tech savvyness, only that he uses a computer all the time for his job (as many of us do).

I think the looking down your nose at the tech neophytes comes naturally regardless of the field of your choice. I know microbiologists at work who are like that whenever they find me ignorant of the basic facts “everybody should know”.
