Many years ago, one of my daughters, at about that same age, tried the “storming off, slamming her bedroom door and locking it” bit while her Mum was lecturing her. I simply punched my fist through the flimsy hollow-core door, reached down and unlocked it while she stood there with her mouth open and eyes the size of dinner plates. Her punishment was I took the door off and she had to go a whole week with no door, just a sheet tacked up for privacy. She never slammed the door again.
