It’s a work of shoebox diorama art, Alice! Don’t try to change it!

This time, Richard’s blog entry covers the last 2 strips.

Funnily enough Richard responds to this topic.

“A poster on GoComics asked where Petey gets all the shoeboxes for his dioramas. Strangely enough I had a small subplot about Grandma unloading a pile of shoeboxes on Mrs. Otterloop, enough to fill the back of the van, but I dropped it. Maybe I shouldn’t’ve as it made for a nice bit of elaboration. God knows where Grandma got all the boxes; from a lifetime of buying shoes, I guess. And of course, she’s a hoarder.”Perhaps you saw mabrndt’s entry?

Hey. gang! Want to inject a little more drama into the diorama? Just move your cursor into and out of the comic-strip proper, using the first panel, last panel, from the top, the bottom, anywhere. Then most of the diorama will alternate bright and shaded, as the coursor is moved. Shaded, bright, shaded, bright. I found this out by accident. Whee!

Thanks, mabrndt. Re: Where Petey’s shoeboxes come from: My daughter’s family has four kids, and they get loads of shoeboxes. Family and friends can also contribute enough shoeboxes to fill a factory.

Love the sibling dynamic of Petey doing something just to make his sister happy. Even though he has to know Alice, being Alice, will never be totally please, Petey has that covered, too.

Awww. Petey, that’s so sweet of you to do that for your little sister. Who says you don’t know how to relate to others?

I always leave the box behind when I buy new shoes. If there are more people like me out there, Walmart probably has a storeroom of empty shoe boxes somewhere!
