I couldn’t see the sense of cuddling bits of porcelain with senseless faces. My friends were horrified. WRESTLING BOYS WRESTLING TRYOUTS BOYS WRESTLING TRYOUTS I was called a tomboy… …but that made little impression on me. I sighed sometimes… …because I was not like other girls. Women had to work twice as hard, and put up with derision, discouragement and hostility, to accomplish. Dealing with all that did emphasize the need for self-discipline, determination and hard work. When I began trying lawsuits, I was taken aside and told that the “arena” was no place for a lady. So I combined the behavior of a lady with extensive preparation and effective presentation. It worked. There is no contradiction between being a lady and being a professional.
