richard's poor almanac highlights of the national portrait gallery by richard thompson hall of imaginary americans all your favorite nonexistent outstanding americans are here: bigfoot, paul bunyan, scrooge mcduck, alfred e. newman, reddy kilowatt, eustace tilley (the snooty new yorker cover guy), boze the clown, gumby, even mr. spock, who's not technically american because he's really from, you know, outer space. party caricatures of the xxth century perhaps the finest colelction of hasty, vageuley recognizable caricatures of macrocephalic americas ever assembled! as a bonus, cowboy ed the caricaturist extraordinaire will draw you for a small fee. if you have any hobbies please inform cowboy ed & he'll incorporate it into the art work the unknown gilbert stuart gilbert stuart painted over 12,000 portraits of george washington. even-tually the strain drove him to begin creating a series of hitherto unseen and grossly offensive paintings of our first president, including portraits of washington wearing silly hats, pick-ing his nose & even setting fire to his teeth while lighting a cigar.

Yay Reddy Kilowatt! He was all over my house when my parents were working for the power company in the 70’s.
