Any nerd remembers the trials and tribulations of elementary PE. Try as hard as you might, your body wouldn’t conform to expectations. It seems purposely structured to give those with machismo a second chance.

After WWII, my Dad worked in construction and we traveled a lot. In Texas we had PE, but in Arkansas where we lived, there was no PE. That meant that I was in and out of a PE class. I didn’t know any of the games.I was always the new kid who was chosen last. I have never been interested in any kind of sports. I hate the noise and echos in gyms. I was an outdoor kid nerd at that.

better kickball than dodgeball (PE sanctioned bullying).

Trust me, it’s very possible to strike out in kickball.
