After more than 200 years of taxation WITH representation, may we PLEASE have the King, or in the present case the Queen, back!! He/She is a heck of a lot cheaper to keep than Congress is!!!
And our esteemed President isn’t supposed to be a ‘leader’, he’s supposed to be an administrator who does what Congress TELLS him to do! There are more words in the Constitution specifying how to select and impeach the President than there are words specifying what his duties are!!!
“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” — Benjamin Franklin
“What country before ever existed a century & half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. … The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.” — Thomas Jefferson (You’ll find that here http://www.let.rug.nl/usa/P/tj3/writings/brf/jefl64.htm)
Be nice to the King! He can’t possibly spend as much on indulgences for himself in a whole year as Congress wastes on totally useless junk in one day!!
Stay tuned tomorrow to see what comic they land in.
Right on BigChief Desota. I get so mad when I hear people refer to somone as a government official. There ARE NO American government officials—they are SERVANTS of the people!!!
Tell that to the American governmental officials, who (trust me) are quite real. The problem is not that they are officials or governors or not “servants of the people”. Remember, “special interest groups” (for example) are just as much a part of “the people” as anyone else - and so are corporations, unions, etc.
Even Aristotle acknowledged that monarchy was the best form of government - although he also was forced to admit that given human nature, democracy was the best compromise. But the best available solution is not ipso facto a good solution…

Anybody remember those wonderful pop-bottle rocket fights we use to have? Such Fun, Such danger, such stupidity.
