I can almost hear the breathless commentators in the booth. ‘Look at this beautiful float from the Clip and Buy, that rattle symbolizes the struggle that the early Americans had for freedom!’

The Best 4th of July Float ever !

Well, we still don’t know what Dill’s brother looks like, UNLESS??? I have a collection of pictures of all the characters in this strip from Day 1 and thought I could get another one this time. The picture of Dill’s father and Grandfather Otterloop are the rarest. Like collecting stamps.

That float is sure to be noticed – the racket must be deafening!!

What a wonderful strip Cul de Sac is! A constant pox on the Denver Post for dropping them…

I hope the parade route is a straight shot; it must be awful hard for that float to turn corners…

turtleman, when was Grandfather Otterloop shown? In the new Treasury, RT identifies one of the other parents who attended Blisshaven’s Parent’s Night as Dill’s mother. Maybe.

(By the way, at one point in an early strip Miss Bliss addresses the children:”Alice, settle down! Beni, put that away! Dillon, take that out of your nose!” or something like that. It took me several beats to realize that “Dillon” was “Dill.”)

Like our neighborhood 4th Parade, soo soo much stuff thrown out by the pols and commercial “floats”…..

So Dill is George Washington’s younger brother. Aaaaah!

I think this is the first time one of Dill’s brothers actually appears in the strip, at least that I’ve seen.
