Just goes to show why one should NEVER make important decisions in a moment of anger. I stayed in jobs where I had much better reasons to quit than these two did—or so I thought, at the time. After I cooled off, and regained my composure and perspective, things looked a lot different. Besides, you should never quit a job unless you already have a new one lined up.
You’re right, but there’s an old comedy cliché that husbands are all idiots, and wives are always the more sensible. We try to avoid falling into that, but I guess some folks still see it that way.
Betting something comes along and the two have to be rehired and get a substantial increase… just has to happen as MMM needs their geek duo… to be with the rest of the geeks. Or they wake up and it’s a dream :)
@JohnZakour, you’re loved anyways, so just smile and be happy. I have to be the grownup, and that is okay most of the time…. double choco chip wouldn’t do it for me. Alas.
@DOSqueen, too true. I had a lead job, hadda wear suit, (I had one combo that looked just like Rita’s) and talked to the dude that came in to fix copiers and microfilm cameras on contract. What the company charged us to send him out for one hour, he made less than 4% of that charge. I made more than he did. And he had to wear suits to get filthy at times to fix that stuff. Fast food at openers/closers paid the same as what we made…

And the ones that still exist are paying the same wages they paid in the 90’s.
While I applaud the fast food workers trying to move up to a living wage, many “high tech” jobs pay less than $15 an hour – way less.

My challenged grandson got his first real job. It is in food service and he is starting $2 above local minimum wage.

It’s Kathy, and Roy didn’t talk her into it. She’s as big a geek as he is. She mad her own choice.
