Google Lipitor/diabetes and see what happens when you take Lipitor. I now have Lipitor induced diabetes !!!!!!! It causes MANY other health issues and has caused more heart problems than it helps. All it does is make doctors that perscribe it and big Pharmas rich !!!!!!!!!
So true David. The liver regulates the cholesterol levels in the body. The more cholesterol in the food, the less the liver produces and if one eats nothing containing it, the liver produces more. BTW, Cholesterol was never concidered to be a heart risk until big pharma discovered a ahemical that ’’lowered’’ it. <><me
Had a physical this spring, the ‘Doc’ said that everything in my blood(what should be there, of course)was at the proper levels and she had no advice for me ! I turned seventy about 3 months after that—haven’t changed my eating style, either ! !! !
I heard the latest BS about certain processed foods, and I’m sure there will be a load of fanatics who will get their snuggies in a bunch over the latest news!
For me, I will change nothing. I feel good, eat moderately (including the dangerous red meat and other junk food from time to time) and plan to live well until that day comes when I take my last breath, whenever it makes its appearance…
comicsssfanDoctors wouldn’t prescribe so much if their patients didn’t complain they didn’t do anything if they used other treatment. I am constantly met with amazement when I tell them I don’t take any drugs. After all, I am only 82.
My doc sends me a print-out of my lab results every year and down at the bottom of the page, he writes “Just keep doing whatever you;re doing.” Ha, ha, ha
It is interesting to hear those who chastise folks who take meds to help them live a better life. I commend you if you are able to eat right, take reasonable care of your health, including injuries for which I assume you mend on your own, and still live well. There are a lot of folks who can do this, and maybe they are lucky or maybe they know something the rest of the world doesn’t
In any case, not everyone is so blessed. Think for yourself, if you were suddenly stricken with a disease that would result in death in a few years or even months, depending upon the severity. You could go home and continue to care for yourself, and eventually die; or you could work with a daily regimen of pills or injections and strict dietary controls and live a fairly long life. What would you do?
When I was 12 years old, I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, and given a choice. Take daily insulin injections and follow a more controlled diet and possibly live into my 50s or not! I chose to live and I am 66 now and truly believe my wife, children, and grandchildren are thankful I made the correct choice…

I may be a great-grandson and grandnephew of a few pharmacists, but I’ve no clue what Lipitor does. Is it for indigestion or something?

What tastes good, tastes good. If I have to enjoy life less to live a little longer, I’d rather have the shorter happier life.

In my case, i eat a bit of chocolate. Without it, my cholestrol level would be over 300.With chocolate, it is about 110 to 150.

Maybe, but not as ignorant as to say someone can be “pretty ignorant and/or dumb.” Oh, wait…I just said that to you, didn’t I?
