Andy, how wonderful, your Mum’s coming. She and Flo can sit around and discuss what a wonderful choice Flo made in picking a husband. She can run tea and beer for you and generally treat you like a king. Have a couple of more pints and go home and give her a big hug. Or you could get in a barroom brawl, get arrested and thrown in the clink for a couple of weeks.

Why Andy, I didn’t know you had it in you.

Wait, I should’ve known. Unexpected foresight in the face of a threat, the tendency to lose yourself in mindless pleasure, an aspiration to sports and a love of the track, a strong desire to disassociate yourself socially save from a few close friends - you’re a fellow ENFP, although not the most ethical of our ilk I’ve ever seen.

Y’know, as a rule the Andy Capp comic doesn’t employ story arcs; they’re all one-offs.

But I sure wish Mahoney and Kettle would break that rule here; this has potential!

Andy is not going to have to worry about it.

Flo’s mother will be out the door first thing in the morning and spend the day nagging the workmen until their quitting time.

If Andy times his trips to the pub right, he should never even know she was there!

Hey good insight Andy. I wish the strip would come one for Flo.

It’s OK… Andy has a tunnel from under the sofa to the pub. While Flo’s mum is bothering the workmen, Andy can slip out the back jack…

I never had a problem with my mother-in-law. My wife’s been dead now for longer than we were married, and I still talk to her mother once a month or so.
