Pembrook: The truth of the matter, Fox, is you've been very hard to replace. Apparently, in today's job market, people with your business skills make six times what we've been paying you! So if you've come to ask for your job back, the answer is yes. Roger: With no cut in pay?!! Pembrook: Not that your business skills are flawless. Roger: Ok, ok, a little cut in pay.

Go elsewhere and ask for five times the pay. You’ll probably get it.

Management by intimidation! I thought American business found out a long time ago, that just doesn’t work! Mess with your head to keep a paycheck, how sad!

I say he lacks wizdom, for if he had wizdom, he could find a job he like’s and pay’s him well.

In today’s economy bosses use of intimidation is still being used, more effective now then it use to be. With so many people out of work even a job at McDonald’s is fought over. There is no such thing as job security any more. No matter how good you are at what you do, if they can find someone to do your job for less pay, they’ll hire that person and fire you.

Intimidation? Isn’t boss giving Roger an opening to negotiate from strength [people with your business skills make six times…] and Roger – as usual – drops the ball??!

Roger just wants a fair deal: a honest day’s pay for an honest week’s work. Er…

You got that right, cjammer!
