Mr. Veeblefester: Where have you been? It's past noon!
Brutus: I shut my hand in the car door...
Brutus: I had to go to the hospital and have x-rays done. They showed a small fracture, so they put on a cast.
Brutus: And that took all morning?
I’ve been to the hospital several times due to bowel obstructions since I had my bowels reconstructed 4 years ago. Usually I have to wait at least a half-hour before they let me into an examination room. One time I went in with an infected leg and a high fever, they skipped the waiting room and took me straight to an exam room to start treating me for the fever.
Much earlier this year, maybe in early April, I took my bike out, I was not wearing a helmet, and whent for I ride on oneof our bike trails. I had to make a sharp turn to get off the asphalt trail and back onto the concrete sidewalk when I lost my balance and fell of my bike, and one side of my headsmacked the concrete, making a small cut in the left side of my head. Someone saw this happen, and hit 911 with hiscell phone. I was rushed to the hospital ER, where after spending roughly 90 minutes, they determined I was not badly hurt. Had I known this, I would have gotten back onmy bike and gone home.

I guess he’s never been to the ER before. He’ll find out when he has his first heart attack.

the boss is rich enough that he probably has a VIP ER that he can go to with no waiting.
