When I was young I had a pony that got such a thick coat in the winter he looked like a big fluffy stuffed toy. When shedding season came you could place your hand flat on him, make a fist and literally pluck handfuls off! The birds went crazy for the nesting material. He would be so smooth and shiny when it all came off that he looked like a totally different guy ; )
People who complain about Labradors shedding have no idea what real shedding is about. To see real shedding you need to have a Malamute, Samoyed or a German Shepherd…..
My best friend in college (in Tucson, AZ, no less) had a husky. If you walked down the hallway in his building, you could find his apartment by following the trail of fur. Kody was allowed on the couch, and the couch was more fur than fabric. Tufts of hair would drift about the home like tumbleweeds. It was quite impressive.

Silly Millers. They should have asked more questions about the neighborhood first.

I used my dogs hair to build a storage area out back. Why else would they call them a shed?

I’ve got some cat hair I can contribute.

We made throw pillows from a Sheepdog (carded, spun, and knitted, and stuffed with something other than fur). We could have made sweaters, too, lol.

My golden sheds so much that I carved some hair into a poodle. I’ll post a picture if someone can explain how to do that.

We have a smooth haired hound-greyhound mix. She sheds so much that I wonder why she isn’t bald.

I always wonder what we used for dryer lint before we got our dog.
