It makes you wonder who the real monsters are. Corporations who take needless risks that kill or maim their employees and destroy an entire coast line make a “monster” that kills 2 or 3 people look like small potatoes.
How bouts dat monster that created dum dum dum internal combustion and all his minions who feed it daily. Like taking a little toke while you decry the thousands killed in drug violence along the border. If we stop demanding it, they’ll stop supplying it.
MISNGNOLA I agree wholeheartedly. And if legal and cheap, there would be no reason for dealers hooking new clients. Take away the danger and spice. “Hey, lets go down the government clinic and get high.” “Naw, I’m staying home and watch TV.”
As for the oil, tax the bejesus out of it. People might learn it ain’t so cool to live 50 miles from work so their families aren’t subjected to us poor, crime prone people of color in the city. ‘People might learn to turn the thermostat down to 65 and put on a sweater.. They might question the wisdom of the third family car. $6-$8 a gallon. Why that sounds like everywhere else in the world. Would demand go down? Would the need for supply goes down? Remember, that $6-$8 is because of taxes, not profits.Taxes up, demand down, revenues down, do you thin they’re going to risk a new oil well?

Lew if we stop making it illegal, and let the taxes pay for rehab and such for those who can’t handle it, we achieve the same end.
