This is something my husband would say- a very typical sense of humour for many, not only (but often) men.
I picture the watch as a pocket watch. That would work even these days, since they are fairly “cool” and a lovely present.
Rather than propose to a guy, I’d rather stay single. And Yes I was happily married. But sadly, I’m widowed now.
