The problem is many people don’t outgrow this phase.

Now that the kids are gone(scattered across the country), Christmas isn’t any fun(don’t start with the real reason for Christmas, I know what it is to remember)but still when there are kids in the house, Christmas seems to be more alive and real and being more enjoyable ! ! !

Small children make Christmas magical. Once they are teens and/or grown, the magic is gone and Christmas becomes just another day.

How did this strip manage to have Christmas and still be in sequence? What year was it shown originally?

derdave: you are SO right. We have returned Christmas to Xmas – from a pagan holiday to a Christian holiday and back to pagan once again. Greedy little buggers.

I noticed too corresponds to CHRIST mas days to the 25th. For children days just drag then when CHRIST mas day is here after gifts open is gone. We also CHRIST mas eve go to candle light service we have two time slights usually just one so we will go early one, this I like. For us my children and now adults therefore we wait until afternoon and we draw names during Thanksgiving time, and when CHRIST mas day when food is over and we relax then we take turns opening gifts. Draws out more. Most other families gifts are opened first thing then the meal and nothing left. Except children playing games.

I wasn’t going to bring it up, but that’s why I do NOT celebrate Christmas. It is not biblical, and is not the date of Christ’s birth.

However, if you consider that Elizabeth got pregnant right after the course of Abia, and met the newly pregnant Mary six months later, you can count backwards to the conception date….. and find yourself right around December 25th. This also puts the birth at a time of year that makes perfect sense, late September.
