Should have made it clear to begin with that the dog wasn’t theirs then. Also it is a puppy, but would guess he tries breaking in to get his dog back and it starts barking etc.

The Cobb family only agreed to keep Mortimer until the owner got out just not expected that soon.

He’s a good guard dog, he just cares more about the family than the actual house.
