You need to do that in the middle of the back yard.Or, better yet, at the end of the driveway. That way it will be easier for the fire truck to get to it.

Just last night I saw an old “Good Eats” where Alton Brown erected a turkey derrick out of a stepladder, a couple of pulleys, some clothesline, and a few other parts, all so he could lower the turkey into the fryer from a distance with total control.
