When I first read it I thought Vern said it was about being Hammy (no comma). When I got to the end I think I read it right the first time.

I thought he said “It’s about being Hammy.” I missed the comma. So, Christmas is about being happy regardless of circumstance, and just accepting life as it is and making the best of your world?
There are worse things for Christmas to be, I suppose…

I, too, missed the comma in “It’s about being, Hammy” … when I read this both in the newspaper and online.
