JWF, Annie could get well and go to school, and maybe you could even have a different parallel comic strip called The Meaning of Annie about Annie and her schoolmates. Meanwhile Annie could come to visit Lila intermittently on Lila’s comic strip.
Annie is so wonderful, but her fathers should have a quick search in her room and make sure she hasn’t got hers hands on a couple of credit cards. Or maybe her bookie works in the hospital.
There is a little girl that has cancer that lives by me. A few months ago she was given a week to live, 5 days after that she had an operation with a 5% survival rate and today she is still with us and the operation was completely successful. A little more treatment and she is expected to make a full recovery.
I like Annie in this comic, let her have a miracle.
wouldn’t annie’s bookie be her life insurance agent? if annie loses the bet she pays but she lives longer. if she wins the bet she gets a payoff but her beneficiary gets it

Although similar but not quite, this reminds me of a story I read today, which really lifted my spirits.
The young actress playing Nala in ‘Lion King’ was diagnosed with Lukemia back in April so there was a bone marrow drive done for her today.
If she can do it, so can our Annie!
