It’s so your wife can hear you and ask if you’re trying to spoil your dinner.

Pavlov’s dog would not be begging if he had not learned that this snack could be shared with him.

That would be our dog, ‘Turd’. Open a plastic bag and he appears.

My cats do the same thing as soon as they hear a can of cat food opening. Only time they show enthusiasm in coming to me unless it is a cold night and I have the electric blanket turned on.

My cats’ treats come in “noisy bags”, and they both know that sound very well. They come running from the farthest reaches of the house when they hear it (or anything similar).

Right! they know when you even THINK about having something to eat. Ah, for the days when dogs lived in the yard and ate leftovers…

“They always seem to sense it !”-—————————————————They do. We got ‘noses’… they got ‘smellers’…Come home with a load of groceries and The Cat would look up and ‘acknowledge my presence’… but come home with a load of ‘to-go’ chicken wings and she waz all over me. Go figger.

My dog can hear an empty plate. He only gets to lick plates when I am done but can hear when the plate is empty from another room even if he is asleep. It is utterly amazing. He always shows up just as I am about to put the fork down on the table.

None of my 4 pets (3 cats and a dog) were encouraged to beg. If you don’t teach them how, they won’t do it. I don’t want my pets to have “people food” anyway.

Yeah! Why can’t snacks come in flannel bags? Then you could sneak them past dogs, cats and human relatives!

Once again I will proudly mention our many house rabbits we’ve had over the years. Not only did they know the treat bag or canisters sound, they knew the word, and then how it was spelled! They also learned how to understand “nail trim” and any word or words associated with it, and then when we resorted to spelling, they learned that, too! When they are doing something they shouldn’t, we just say, “What do you think you are doing?” and they stop! House Rabbits are highly intelligent and loving, fun companions. They are remarkably obedient, and very sweet. However, not for the faint of heart. You must bunny proof your home, as they do chew cords and tend to nibble things you leave lying around. It takes an education before adopting a rabbit, and they live from ten to twelve years.

Gingerly pick up the package, quietly go outside or into the garage before opening, then enjoy! Nobody will be the wiser!

    I wasn’t born yesterday…

Not only do they come in noisy bags, the bags are designed to rip unevenly so you can’t easily close them and save some for later. I think this is by design.

The darn thing weighs about 15lbs. I’d say it is getting fed.
