Strange, as it may sound, you see a lot more, when you climb, than when you drive.

At sixteen, Burl told his grandmother she didn’t need to knit him another sweater…

cos he had a part-time job and could afford to buy one at the Big and Tall Shop.

At 22, when his uncle took him to the club to try golfing, he said it would be “easier” to go right to the 18th hole and drop his ball in the cup.

And a few years ago, when Verla bought him and Joy a jigsaw puzzle for Christmas,

he asked why people spent hours putting together a “broken” picture, when you could just buy one that was undamaged.

So today’s snark doesn’t surprise me.

The Pike’s peak cog line train is better than the hike or driving.

I’m surprised they drove any place where there isn’t a Walmart or a Dairy Queen waiting at the end of the journey.

And there is a cliff on this side for that mob to toss Burl over.
