One Christmas, we made dinner for our whole family. I made Chateau Briand and all the trimmings. My wife’s brother called to say they were running a bit late, their youngest had just woke from a nap. I went to tell my wife’s parents we would eat in about 10 minutes, and they were already eating. I told my wife “This is the last time I make a holiday meal for your parents!” That youngster is in college now, and we travel for the holidays. One Thanksgiving, they have turkey TV dinners because her son doesn’t want them over either.
“Scheduled too many patients” is about the worst limp-richard excuse there is. You KNOW how long the average patient appointment takes. I absolutely HATE sitting an hour past my appointment time because YOU “scheduled too many patients”.
My brother-in-law Steve was always late to family dinners, as he hated having to sit around and chat before the meal. His mother would wait for him, as she thought it would be rude not to do so. Then one day my husband explained that it would be “ruder” to make those who bothered to arrived on time wait to be served. We were all eating when Steve walked in 35 minutes late. He was never late again.
Had an appointment with the retina specialist yesterday at 3:10. Saw the doc at 5:30. They either get me in and out quickly or it takes forever. No in between. The good news is I don’t have to go back unless I have a problem.
