Good morning Vagabonds.A beautiful day in the NEK, sunshine and blue skies, cool though, 6 whole degrees outside our door.Channel 3 web site says a very active pattern for the next several days, so this is the calm before the storm..Got someone for you: He was born Hans Jorg Gudegast. It was under that name that he was part of the cast of “The Rat Patrol”, later tobe known by another name. (the one I’m looking for)Other credits include “Escape from the Planet of the Apes”, “Colossus: The Forbin Project”. On TV: The “Wonder Woman” pilot, “Gunsmoke”, “Murder, She Wrote” and so on.His most well known on going roll has earned him the nickname The Black Knight.IMDb puts his earliest roll in 1961..OK, there it is, enjoy the hunt..Good day all..ttfn
Those German-born actors sure had a lot of work between 1941 and about 1966, didn’t they? So many war films, and need for German speaking actors. (My favorite being “The Longest Day” – gotta love Kurt Jurgens or the guy who cut his birthday cake with his sword.)
Another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Off to help Mike again today.
Well, I am officially “weened” from my boot ankle brace. The swelling is gone, and I’m pretty sure I won’t have an ankle problem again. The back is back to the big pain when I sit and then stand up. I’ll see if I need another injection next week. This time it lasted a whole week!!!!
Mark, I LOVE your trivia questions! I had no clue about this actor, and because of Jan’s answer, I looked that guy up. I guess I just never saw his work.
Howdy Vagabonds.Light snow with temperature right at freezing, and the snowplow just rattled on by..As to Hans Gudegast, there was a Starlog interview in which he said he had been told that as a German he would not get far as an actor, he should change his name. So he changed it to Eric Braeden.Very good Jan, you hit the nail on the head.Since 1973 Braeden has been the nemesis of the Abbott family in the soap opera “The Young and the Restless”. Well, he’s also a nemesis to his own family. This is just speculation on my part, that he will be 75 in April, he maybe retiring and that Victor is going out with a BANG. Pure speculation..The storm seems tobe blocking the satellite and the cats are trying to get me to give them their good stuff so I’ll be back..Later..ttfn
Ooppssss………..it’s not my birthday, David and Mark……..not until July 10th. Don’t make me older. :))
Supposed to get to 58 today! Now, that’s a WooHoo!
And, the saga of Downton Abbey is almost at a close. They’re running a “making of” tonight, and next Sunday is THE END!!!Jan…..thank you over and over for recommending this marvelous series! PBS at it’s best.
To quote the Mad Hatter & the March Hare, “A very merry unbirthday to you” Rita. And to all of us, I suppose.
Mike’s all moved except for his big furniture. He’s moving that today with help from his friends, and I can’t help with it. My housekeeper and I are going over to the old place tomorrow to help him clean up for move-out inspection. She’s a whiz and loves to clean. As for unpacking, I helped him get his kitchen set up yesterday, but he’s on his own for the rest of it.
We’re going to have a baked cheese fondue for dinner this evening. Eggs, bread, cream and lots of sharp cheddar cheese. Yum!
Yesterday got above 80, and today looks to be more of the same. Good day to open up the doors and windows.

Mark, would that be Eric Braeden?

Good Sunday morning Vagabonds.
Happy birthday Rita. You are the same age as my youngest daughter.
Going to be a nice day today with temp in the 50’s.
