Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Happy Free Comic Book Day. Go to your local comic book shop and get a free comic book (or more where applicable).
Many people who visit this strip get annoyed by the unchanging art. Another good way to annoy people is to drop a brick on their foot, or to use their names in naughty graffiti, or to make faces at them, or post insulting memes on their walls, and at least four other methods I can’t recall just now.
What foolishness! When people visit the Louvre, are they shocked that the Mona Lisa has not changed since the last time they were there? That the magnificent sculptures of Michelangelo don’t jump up and down and prance for thelr shallow amusement?
I don’t understand comic books. I mean you buy one, but then the art never changes in it! The writing is always the same! You look at it tomorrow, next week, next year – still the same! What’s the point?
Exactly! True art inspires us to find new truths. The viewer is an integral part of all true art, so as the viewer grows and changes, the art he or she sees or hears changes as well.
This alone sets Scully among the truly great artists of our time.
