Dr Canuck, IMO, the Muslim world has a long memory. By the time we’ve reached out enough for them to trust us, Bin Ladin will be long gone and his grandchildren will be old men.
Bin Ladin is not important to the Muslin world, he is not their leader, he does not control a network of terrorist, he didn’t even have that much to do with 9/11 (it was not his plan, or his organization), he (like a lot of people in the middle east) did provide money.
But he makes a great villian, and so Cheney/Bush held him up as the ONE, and he loved it because it gave him a great platform to spout his stupid ideas.
The “Muslin World” does not worship him, or even follow him.

Osama could, more or less, just be a figurehead at this point. Doesn’t make “him” or the idea any less dangerous.

In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11, over 80% of the newly born boys in Saudi Arabia were named Osama … .!!!
