A really stupid comparison. There is a world of difference in negotiating with a nuclear power to limit nukes and negotiating with a fascist theocracy to forestall the production of them.
I don’t see any insight on what those who are unhappy with the deal would rather see done? Obama bashing is all they seem to be able to manage. Let’s hear your ideas on a better solution. Carpet bombing? Another middle east invasion? Any ideas?
I’m sure the Republicans are also abashed that the sailors were returned without a fight. Trump or Cruz would have used it as an excuse to start a war. Or maybe like St. Ronnie, sell arms to Iran.
Classic false equivalency fallacy. Big difference between a deal with a spent power circling the drain with a leader looking to reduce defense costs and a rising power driven by eschatological beliefs and virulent antisemitism.
I’m not sure I understand which part is the apocalypse – The nuke deal made with Iran – or the fact that a Democrat did something that worked. I think the real Apocalypse for the right is when a Democrat gets legislation through and it is something the American people support.
The west tried to monitor nukes, after the breakup of the Soviet Union, but the fact is that a number of devices “disappeared” from places like the Ukraine. Those missing devices remain a bigger threat than Iran.
The nuke deal is a viable start, and like the release of our boatmen, diplomacy is smarter than wars, but Reagan (Grenada), Bush 41 Panama and Iraq, and “W” and the klan, as in Afghanistan, Iraq, and now their camp mates calling for more war on Syria, don’t get it.
I resent “Republican” being inked into this cartoon.-There is no comparison. Reagan got a deal that all parties signed and verification was possible.-Obama and Kerry promised $Billions to Iran to say the words “agree” but none of the parties signed anythingand the Iranian government “congress” wrote an entirely new version of what Kerry brought back to the USA.-IMO it is incompetence to the MAX on the USA’s part and dangerous to our security into infinity.-There was no permission for us to inspect or verify anything Iran does. Iran has been reported to have been breaking the agreement since the talks ended.-What level of STUPID can American leaders sink to?
And Ronnie took credit for things that were already in motion (break up of Soviet Union, taking down the Berlin Wall) – While Obama works with other nations and creates a deal out of more than his ego.
Letmesee, USSR had beaucoup nukes and Reagan may have scored a treaty to cap the number. Iranian non-materialist mad mullah don’t have any nukes at all, Obama contrived to unfreeze $150 Billion in assets and open trade in return for ?????
Well, you know, there’s just something “different” about President Obama. I’m not sure what it is. Different political party? No. Different philosophical outlook? No. Any ideas out there?

The Iran Nuke Deal allowed Iran to do whatever they want, the NK one didn’t, so no comparison here. Sorry to take away a dumb left-wing talking point.

GOP diehards are as predictable and as rational as the average two-year-old in the midst of a seven-year old hissy fit.

Again, and again, it’s all right if a republican does it. However, if a Democrat does it, it’s again the worst thing that could have happened.

How very true. I have never (I’m 90) seen a Congress that opposed virtually everthing the President supported
