Totally understand. I had to have one of my maintenance guys fix a door on a machine I was running because the door fell off. I didn’t tell him it fell off because I kicked it.
my sister used to have a tennis ball alarm clock you could throw when it went off and the snooze button would be activated. then when the alarm went again you’d have to get out of bed and find it to make it stop

Maybe if he used his phone’s alarm instead, he wouldn’t throw it. I don’t know many teens who would destroy their precious phones on purpose.
