I once spent a week with a 3 year old grandson. Some of those kids shows are horrendous! One of them the casts wear plastic looking wigs and talk in preternaturally high voices. He love it!He’s 10 now and gets all A’s in school, so no harm was done, at the time I wasn’t sure.We only watched during lunch, it was the only way I got him to sit still. I went home after 6 days, exhausted. LOL

Bless you, Peter Otterloop! Such a good dad, learning to dance her way with your four-year-old daughter!

    CRASH! Love it….

I live with my 4 year old grand daughter (since she was 1). Some days I go to my room and shut the door. But she is a hoot and I enjoy listening to her and her Mom (my daughter) interact and, yes, argue. Brings back sweet memories.

I’m sure Alice is a pro at breaking things without even having to do the dance.

A lot of those kid shows (and I am familiar with them, alas) are supposed to be interactive: the kids are supposed to be jumping around, and doing stuff along with the show. My grandnieces: lumps. Even Dora— she will say something in Spanish and repeat it in English: they don’t learn it. (A new one, “Nina’s World,” with Rita Moreno, she doesn’t translate: just speaks Spanglish with family and friends. That’s a better way to learn, I think.)

And don’t get me started on “Miles From Tomorrowland”: everything is turned “science-y” by adding “galactic” in front of it. Mom says they’re going to a constellation. Arrgh. At least they don’t say “I’ll be there in three parsecs,” instead they say “astro-minute” or something similarly stupid. Sigh.

Awesome. And the older you get… the better dancer you are!

This definitely sounds like Alice’s kind of show …
