    Never had that problem. Always looked forward to visits to or from my MOL—-I miss the LADY dearly, wish my wife’s MOL could have learned from mine ! ! ! !

    There are certainly people that you visit because you want to, and people that you visit because you feel obligated to. I just hope the kids will think of me as one of the former.

    actually i have wonderful memories of visits to my mother in laws house, and i miss bob and stells part in my life. and i still love their little girl. i am an old plugger

    When I was a kid, we visited my mother’s parents every other summer. (In the alternate years, they visited us.) While we kids loved going to Oregon and being with Grandma & Grandpa, my mom told me years later that we did that because it was the only vacation we could afford at the time.

    I hope I won’t be spending any time soon with my mother in law! She passed away about 50 years ago…

    This MIL and FIL lives with the DIL and son and grandkids. They built us a granny flat. ❤️
