Had the opportunity to view flying fish once, whilst crossing the ocean by sea, on one of the last liners doing so regularly back in the â60s. They followed in the wake of the ship, leaping and âflyingâ for considerable distances before falling back into the water. Splendid sight!Montyâs Aquarium is, predictably, a bit oddâŠ.
I went to the Miami Seaquarium in the 80s and the dolphin tank was open up topâ you could walk right up to the rail and stick your hand in if you had a mind to.A friend and I were taking a shortcut around the tank watching the dolphins swim around when one threw a small football at us. I picked it up and threw it back, and we played catch for a bit. Then I held it out over the water, and the dolphin dove, circled around, and came up to grab it out of my hand. Well, it would have, but I saw those teeth coming up and chickened out, letting the ball go first. Thatâs when some other tourists wanted a turn, and we left them to it. Most kewl.

Love the fifth panel. A great rendition of flailing net action.
