Made a move about a year ago and “terminated” about 250+ VHS tapes because they are not recyclable unless completely separated.Took me about a week to do them all! OH, CD and DVD are the same;non recyclable!

Still using our VCRs, and still getting great enjoyment from them. It may be an “obsolete technology”, but it suits us fine. We also watch DVDs and internet, so we’re not complete cavemen.

Also: VHS tapes and machines are recyclable if you’re lucky enough to have an electronics recycle program in your area….or check with Best Buy——-they recycle.

I remember the first one I saw at a friends house. He had paid over a $1000 for it. We thought it was so cool. I bought one a few years ago for $40; so it goes with technology.

I converted all my old VCR’s into MP4’s. Some of the tapes were not very good. Not sorry to see that tech die.

Our first VHS unit was a high end RCA “stereo”! Shortly after the purchase, the “stereo” format changed and that was the end of that…

We have several working JVC & Sony VHS/DVD combo players. Now days they are rare to find @ the thrift stores around here. One of the Goodwills in town sells VHS tapes for a quarter.

I long ago lost count of how many tv shows or movies I recorded onto VHS tapes….as to how many I ever watched again, even once, the number is much smaller.
