If you are in a bad mood, say scientists, you will make harsher judgements than if you're in a good mood or have just seen a comedy. (Man: Q* lazy bum!) So if you want people to get angry, humor and satire are counter-productive. (Man 2: That's Bush for you: stoopid!) (Man 3: Haw!) Which is why this cartoon isn't funny. (Man 4: Can I have a cigarette?) (Man 5: Take it out of your bonus.)

I am not the first to have said this, I have only repeated what history and science (also dictators) have long known – Get people mad, because it makes them stupid, and once they are angry you can hold up any Stawman and say “There is your problem go get them!”
Illegals anyone? Gays anyone? Civil Rights Legislation anyone? Obama anyone?
The GOP counts on the Conservatives anger, and the Conservatives have never failed them.

Ken:
Your arguments are simplistic and onesided. For strawmen:
Rich anyone? Corperations anyone? Military anyone? Bush anyone?
The democratic base is much less well educated than the democratic elite.

“The democratic base is much less well educated than the democratic elite.”
Let’s look at both sets of straw-men, then. Which ones are based in fact and which ones are based solely on faith? Ahhh… here we go: “Gays anyone?” It is true that the Democratic base is less educated than the elite… the elite is typically college or Ivy league graduates, whereas the canon is that the “base” is the lower-income working class.Did the guy in the first panel kill a guy in a red shirt? If so… he had it coming. One should know better. Red shirts always die first.

Since when is the Republican leadership better educated than the Democratic base?
“Don’t misunderestimate them”

Republican leaders may have technically had more hours of schooling (although they seem to have studied all the wrong things), but their hearts (paltry artifacts though they are, and located in their posterior regions) have been frozen, stultified, and petrified, to the point that the only parts of their bodies still functioning are their bile ducts, spleens, and colons.
