A growing boy needs a lot of energy.

Real tigers don’t eat sugar bombs. They eat boys.

I presume this is the first appearance of CFSB. A true breakfast classic.

Try using ice cream instead of milk.

As tigers go, Hobbes is truly exceptional. No other member of the Felidae can taste sugar or sweetness.

Up until they’re about 15, kids are hard wired to need this kind of sugar. (according to what some researchers say).

Good thing it’s Saturday. With the sugar levels in his bloodstream, he’d drive his teacher(s) bonkers.

I prepare chocolate curds cheese without sugar, it’s fine!!

By the time this first appeared, the word sugar had already been discouraged on cereal boxes- as though it were rat poison.

LeadingEdge , girls are too sweet for tigers to eat.

He could pour chocolate milk on them also. Can never overdo the chocolate.

Definitely one of his classic strips. I still refer to cereal using CFSB as their generic name.

Energy, yes, not empty calories.

How can calories be empty if they’re full of energy?

I bet Hobbes would find a way to get even for that.

He’ll become diabetic when he’s older. Yes, I’m aware this is a comic strip. A very good one too!

It is indeed a good thing that we all have different standards!

I used to love Captain Crunch, virtually the same as what Calvin is eating. Then I made my own granola for about ten years, a recipie from a vegetarian restaurant in Rochdale Toronto, an infamous drug centre. Since then I tend to eggs and bacon, but muesli, takes some time to chew and I like that. My father always made oatmeal porridge and I ate a lot of that. That is the cheapest breakfast. He was British.

So what?

For me, my “go to” breakfast was a big bowl of Frosted Flakes, with three big spoonfuls of sugar.

Cocoa Krispies with Choc milk, Choc Syrup and of course, sugar.
