    Unless you’re Cuban.

P.S. No, I don’t have an issue with Cubans. I have a problem with focused attacks. If “illegal immigration” is a problem then ALL of it must be a problem, not just the ones we don’t coddle.

^ So if a Mexican comes over here seeking political asylum, perhaps from their gun and drug violence, we should give them the same? What if every single Hispanic illegal immigrant suddenly makes that claim? Healthcare, education, and jobs for all because now they’re suddenly ‘different’?

It seems so easy to get Conservatives angry, illegals are illegal, but they are not the ones who crashed our economy (that was the Wall Street Bankers), or are they the reason we are so in debt (that would be the costs of two wars, billions borrow from China, and tax cuts for the rich, thank you Mr. Bush), and they are not the reason for oil spills, floods, hurricans, and the New York Yankees, but all it takes is for the GOP to hold them up as strawmen and the Conservartives charge.

110,000,000 straw men burning bright, giving off such a merry light so stupid men can bemoan their plight

I’m not so sure, HQ - a lot of immigration that would be considered illegal now was more or less okay 100 years ago. It’s not like it began 20 years ago, after all - immigrants were a much higher percentage of the population in the 1900s than 2000s.

Actually, I don’t think there were illegal immigrants from most parts of the world until the laws of the 1920s, and iirc even then there were no limits for people from Latin America. As far as I know, Immigrants could be excluded as per the 1907 and 1917 acts, but only for proven mental or physical disorders or anarchist views, the laws of the 20s did not have any restrictions for Latin Americans (although there was iirc a restriction for non-whites). If the regular Jose Schmoe wanted to work, he might have been able to go work in the US legally a lot easier.

Hey, it just goes to prove you can’t have illegal immigration unless you have a law for immigration ;) .
