    On one hand I feel sorry for , needing to learn those lessons so young. On the other hand I feel the sooner he learns these lessons the better off he will be.

    My niece had the three kids, all under 10, in the car in front of Dad’s house; when she called to say they were there, he claimed to be sick and she had to drive them away. Several years older now, they will have nothing to do with him.

    My ex used to do that to our son. He would promise to take him somewhere and Mike would sit on the front stoop waiting to be picked up. His dad never came. I finally had to tell him to stop making promises. If he wanted to come get Mike and take him somewhere, just do it and we could work our schedule around it. He never did that, either. He just stopped calling.

    It’s a shame that some absentee parents can be such jerk like that, perhaps there is some guilt on the minds of some of them that causes them to act that way.
