Passports for pets - originally thought of in Britain by the Loony Party.

Britain actually does have some fairly stringent requirements if you bring a pet into the country; a passport would almost be easier than the paperwork required!

I was considering a short-term assignment there and looked into bringing my Yorkshire Terrier with me. At one point I wanted to tell them, “Guys, doesn’t she get points for being a naturalized British subject, on the basis of the fact that her breed is British?”

The guy at the embassy chuckled, but still said no…lol.

Wasn’t it Liz Taylor who recently leased a yacht anchored on the Thames for her dogs so she wouldn’t have to leave them in quarantine?

Bassets absolutely DO swim, or at least my Sammy did. I can still see her in the pool with her ears floating out to the side!

There’s nothing loony about Britain having pet passports and rigourous requirements for importing animals. Being an island there’s no rabies, pretty sensible to keep it that way.

He has a passport, he used it for a holiday in France. I’m guessing that he just doesn’t have it on him at the moment.
