Aw. They all miss Lio so much! School is cruelty to animals (and robots and zombies), and therefore illegal! Snort!

Oh, for pity’s sake, guys, he’ll be back at 3:30.

Monsters are such drama queens.

Cybil’s taking advantage of Lio’s being gone all day at school….she’s shredding the curtain…lol

The only thing worse than back to school, is breaking up w/a teacher & seeing all those yellow buses again.

I think Cybil’s bringing down the curtain.

All his pets miss him at home.

It can get pretty scary when none of your summer friends are going back to school with you.

I notice that Cybil is the only one who doesn’t really miss Lio. The others, especially the zombie, are crying their eyes out.

The difference between today’s Heart In The City and today’s Lio epitomizes the overall difference between the two strips. I sometimes find it hard to believe they originate in the same brain.

Do all of his friends have names? I know Cybil (the cat), Ishmael (the cephalopod) and Mittens (the lobster)…what about the rest?

Cybil is ready to bring it all crashing down around her - - -even if she doesn’t know what that means. Cats are like that. I have three. I know. They love destruction and filth while believing they are clean and serene.
