You used to save them and send them in for prizes. It took forever to save enough box tops to get something. And always, “Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery.”
Saving boxtops and adding a couple of dollars got me a 12" diameter globe of the moon from Cheerios in 1967. Then, in 1968 Boxtops got me a model of the whole Saturn 5, LEM, and Capsule. It stood over 3’ tall. Neat! Don’t see deals like that anymore from cereal companies.

This is about as painful (and productive) as saving S&H Green Stamps.

Meanwhile, the cereal company execs are saying, “The kid’s on to us – think of something!”

He should have done it. By the time he was 40, he was still small enough to ride a tricycle.

I just wish I could still get a real toy from a box of Cracker Jacks…

If it were the turn of the 20th century, you’d really want a tricycle at 40.

Beats me, Charlie Brown. Give it to some needy kid, maybe?
