I reached a point in my 20s where I didn’t would rant and rave about my presents either. It became more how often I’d keep going back to a present and drooling over it before I could even open the next one. Rather upsets one of my sisters because she want’s the ranting and raving over her presents. She could care less about presents you get from anyone else as long as it’s her’s you make a massive fuss over.
Come to think of it, I don’t remember a time I ever ranted and raved over my presents.
Ranting and raving means nothing. It’s when the person wears or uses your gift that you know they appreciate it. I once gave my sister a beautiful pair of amethyst and silver earrings, made by an artisan. She “ranted and raved” and put them on her desk. Months later I was at her house and saw the earrings sitting just where she had left them after the ranting and raving. She had never touched them since the day I gave them to her, never worn them.
“Hey, look, I don’t wanna rant and rave, Charlie Brown! I just wanna say I like ‘em! In other words, I said ’thank you.’ How many times you want me to say it, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! END OF TALK!!!”

I just did this once or twice with a present. I don’t like making a scene.

Give a six-year old boy underwear or socks as a present. You’ll see some ranting and raving.

I’m not good with the present either; I prefer the past…
