When I grew up and moved away they changed the numbering of the street I grew up on. The house is still there, but when I tried to find it on Google Maps, the street number came back empty.
My mother drilled my address into me when I was a toddler— 67 Craig Drive, Deptford, NJ. It’s still there— but the trees I swore to climb when I was big enough are gone, alas. We moved away when I was 4.

I always remembered my dad’s zip in South Philly as the years of WWI: 19148
.
I drilled my phone number into my grand-nieces heads for emergencies by repeatedly singing it to the tune of an obnoxious commercial jingle played over and over when I was growing up (“Beautiful Mount Airy Lodge”, IIRC). Even now I can’t remember it myself unless I sing it.

But how does Schroeder remember the street’s name being James? Sparky could’ve gone with – if you ask me – Ludwig Lane.

James is actually a very easy name to memorize, numbers are harder so Schroeder is lucky.

I have no trouble remembering my street address, since it consists of multiples of 3.

No James Street in either Minneapolis or St Paul but both have a James Ave.
